I love Chemistry and Cooking! Do you know what they have in common? I get to mix things and come up with fabulous ideas!
Let me rewind a bit.
I have always considered myself a high achiever and I make sure this reflects in everything I do. As an undergrad in college, I was the best in my department (Chemistry) and in the year 2015, I finished as the best graduating student in the university for my academic year. I attribute this to hard work and perseverance. Since then, I have been a recipient of several awards including; best graduating student award (for undergrad and Masters program), Pan African University award, Petroleum Technology Development Fund award, and the best student in chemistry and biochemistry award. I have had the privilege to take on certain leadership roles such as President of a chemical society in my department as an undergrad, Secretary of a National Youth Service Corps program, as well as an active member of an electoral committee. These positions have given me the opportunity to assume certain mentoring roles for 'young achievers', placing me in the path to achieving one of my long term goals to becoming a mentor for young underprivileged girls. Growing up in a society where quality education is difficult to come by with gender inequality playing a major role in denying opportunities for young achievers made me realize that I have to be a voice for the 'voiceless' and try in my own little way to make a difference.
I am currently in grad school, studying for my doctorate in chemistry. I love what I do in the lab because I get to work on projects that could find solutions to some problems in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
I love cooking (said that already!). I play volleyball sometimes. I love family time.
