HonorSociety.org Launches Leadership, Values and Benefits Program
Program Overview
As of January 2016, all HonorSociety.org chapters will be required to participate in the Leadership, Values and Benefits Program (LVBP). Each month, the chapter board members will train its members on leadership skills and the values and benefits of HonorSociety.org. The purpose of this program is to ensure that all members are trained on leadership skills that will allow them to be great leaders both in the classroom and in the workplace. This program also ensures that HonorSociety.org members are representing the core values of the society, and that they are informed and able to take part in all of the benefits that HonorSociety.org promises its members.

One of the core values of HonorSociety.org is to cultivate a community made up of students who are eager to become leaders on their campus, in the classroom and in the workplace. Students who are trained in leadership skills during college, are highly sought after graduates. These students are prepared to be valuable members of the companies where they are hired immediately after graduation, giving them an edge when it comes to job interviews and graduate school applications.

Trainings
Each month, chapter presidents receive a training program and outline from the HonorSociety.org National Office that the will use to train their chapter members. This training provides structure for the chapter meetings to ensure that their time is being spent productively and that they are getting the most out of their HonorSociety.org membership.

The trainings throughout the semester are reviewed and approved by the National Office. Chapter board members are held accountable by the National Office and submit a form of participation at the end of the each training. All chapter members are required to complete each month’s training in order to maintain active membership. This allows the National Office to ensure that all HonorSociety.org chapters are held to the highest honor society standards.

Training Topics

Training topics are determined based on the HonorSociety.org values as well as the honor society’s commitment to helping students with their career development. The topics range from Personal Branding where students learn how to maintain a professional presence online and offline, to leadership skills, and career preparation that includes resume and cover letter training. These trainings prepare the chapter members for their job search and the graduate school applications.
