Hillary Terell: My Community Service Scholarship!
Dec 10,2015
I am a University of Utah College of Nursing student involved with a Community Engaged Learning Program through the Bennion Center that permits me to serve my community at the National MS Society; Utah-Southern Idaho Chapter. The National MS Society has allowed me to advance my knowledge about MS as well as reach out to the community of MS clients. The material I learn in class is applied with projects I do to help the National MS Society. Learning about the disease of MS is important to my nursing profession due to the fact the MS is an underserved population. Though this has been a challenging concept, this is preparing me to be the best nurse in the community. I have already seen the benefits of my knowledge of MS and specific MS clients in my nursing clinical experiences. My goal in life has always been to help people and make a difference, I feel as though I am doing so through my connection with the National MS Society.
