My name is Cara Paolicelli and I am a rising junior at University North Carolina Wilmington, studying Public Health and Policy. As a result of a scholarship offering I spent spring semester 2016 at George Washington University and participated in their Political Leadership Program, serving as an intern with Senator Patty Murray, D-Washington. I am from Chapel Hill, NC, a 2014 graduate of Carrboro High School. I live and work in Wilmington and also spend time at my father's home in Leland and my mother's Chapel Hill residence. I've participated in community theater, band (flute), volleyball and love to travel. I have participated in many events in Chapel Hill, due to my mother's role in tourism; and I've enjoyed many meetings of Italian-related associations due to my father's published work and speaking engagements on Italy. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunities to learn about community relations through my mother; and Italian literature through my father.
