Many of my hobbies fall into three categories: seeking knowledge, mentoring others, and exploring nature. I am raising three small children at home, and our lives are anything but traditional. When I am not at school or working on community service projects, I am online searching articles or reading a book while trying to cook dinner. Multi-tasking has become second nature to me, and I love having the ability to accomplish more than one thing at a time.
I have a natural ability to mentor others. Maybe it is because I can relate to so many walks of life and the level of perceptiveness that I have. This is not a burden to me at all, and I enjoy being a leader. Somehow, I can inspire people to pursue courageously their higher education, despite any obstacles in their way.
As a single mother, I have been able to explore some the most creative adventures possible to give the quality of time to my children when the quantity of time is absent. We enjoy hiking, mountain climbing, canoeing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. There is nothing like a climbing a mountain with your kids. When you see their faces as they reach the summit, the accomplished confidence that they feel, and the lasting impact on your relationship is hands down the greatest activity I can do with my children.
