I am currently studying Criminology and Criminal Justice at Portland State University, with a focus on families. I find that the family system is one of the most important parts of offender rehabilitation and future generation crime prevention, yet one of the least acknowledged in the current criminal justice system. I want to make strong, healthy family connections more of a priority for incarcerated offenders and offenders under correctional supervision. Currently, I volunteer with the Clackamas County Juvenile Department in their Restorative Justice program to provide youth with another opportunity for success; specifically, I work with the youth in a job training program called Green Corps.
